Congrats to Jarel Winston and his opponent from Japan!

Just watched Jarel Winstons top 8 matchat the world championship.Although he did not come out victorious with his exodia deck against inzektors,you have to give him respect.

Although I would have wished forhim to play the dragon draw exodia version,he still represented the deck well.Game 1 it looked like all in all his deckhad game 1 advantage especially with the abundant inzektors there,so thats good. But next games the deck is vulnerable to royal decree etc..Granted he did run mysticla space typhoon,heavy etc.. in the side,siding those in,takes away from the deck a bit.

Japanese players doing their solemn warning and judgment moves.Those were devastating.Not only did they stop whatever they could,his opponent would lose life points,hindering Jarels hope for escape which is just a simply amazing draw power for him seeing as he runs,upstart goblins and gift cards etc...

In game 3 in his top 8 match I still question why he didnt chain the accumulated fortune and I also uestion why his opponent solemn warning'd his own gorz to bring down his life points when jarel's life points were less than 1000,meaning no hope for escape.Oh well.

They also did have a dispute on giga-mantis.The dispute lasted for a while.Maintaining concentration and focus after that extended period of time is insane.So I give props to both players.

  Good luck to that japanese player  in his future matches.and once again congrats to Jarel Winston for even making it that far.He tried his best and although north america would have loved that trophy,we still commend you on your hard work and dedication to the game that got you where you are right now.Maybe next year USA and maybe someone from Canada will be able to get there and show everyone who's really the best;but, for now just leave it as is and look forward to another format.

I wasn't allowed to activate the accumulated fortune- their was a Mis-communication on our parts and they was trying to figure out if the Japanese guy understood what was happening. So they said that they Jar of greed would resolve after the royal decree gets destroyed so the links are not there. That is what I was told and that Is what i understood to the beat of my ability. So where is the Misplay and the bad plays on Mypart!"

so there you have it.I've been reading massive amounts of forums hating on Jarel for misplaying etc... You can't make assumptions unless you know the whole story.With the live cast of the tournament we were watching japanese commentary or english commentary or the one hosted by drgaon duelist girl or the one with vexacus,either way we weren't able to hear the duelist or judges at all.The english official casting,they sounded dead and told us they were watching exactly what we were watching and they couldn't hear anything.So why make assumptions?Jarel did good,thas all there is to it.Others complaining he should have played a better deck or a better version of exodia.He made his choice.He played it,deal with it.Hope he makes it to worlds next year if he plays,I for one would love to have him as a representative again.
